CLOVIS, Calif (FOX26) — An 11-year-old was arrested after a playground was set on fire Saturday afternoon in Clovis.
According to the Clovis Police Department, officers and firefighters were called out to Music Park, on Music Avenue next to Clovis Rodeo, for reports of a playground on fire.
When officers and firefighters arrived, they found a playground set fully engulfed in flames.

Fire crews were able to quickly put out the flames, but the playground was already destroyed.
Officers say an 11-year-old at the park was detained and later arrested for felony arson.
The juvenile was then released to a guardian due to their age.
Video captured by our photojournalist John Dwelle shows a plume of smoke filling the air as the playground is fully engulfed.

The play structure is seen quickly melting away and the Clovis Fire Department attempting to put out the flames.
This park and playground served an entire neighborhood and now, children will be without a playground until it is replaced.
