Construction gas leak causes school evacuation in Cleveland

Elementary School has moved students to another nearby school as a precaution

School system is sending kids home from both Ross and Yates Elementary schools at 11:30 AM as a precaution.

CLEVELAND, Tennessee (WDEF) – An elementary school in Cleveland has been evacuated this morning because of a construction mishap nearby.

Ross Primary school and administration have been move to Yates Primary as a precaution.

No one has been injured.

School officials say a gas line was ruptured by construction crews.
The school is on Mouse Creek Road NW.
