Police investigate death of woman in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Authorities are investigating the death of a woman Sunday in the city’s Slavic Village neighborhood.

Police were called about 10:25 p.m. to East 68th Street and Polonia Avenue for calls of suspicious activity. Paramedics pronounced the woman dead before officers arrived. Her body was bruised, police said.

Witnesses told officers they heard a man yelling and then saw the woman down in the street.

The victim’s identity has not been released. The office of the Cuyahoga County medical examiner will determine the cause of death.

Police have not identified any suspects. It is unknown if any arrests have been made as of Monday afternoon.

Homicide detectives are investigating.
