Multi-county pursuit ends with arrest of Excelsior Springs man
An Excelsior Springs man was charged after an alleged multi-county vehicle pursuit on September 27. Online court records indicate that 42-year-old Ronald Crumley was charged in Clay County with felony resisting arrest by fleeing. His bond was set at $50,000. Crumley entered a not-guilty plea in court on September 28. A bond hearing is set for October 3.
KC Crime Stoppers: Jim Whitaker
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) - Jim Whitaker, 58, is wanted on a Clay County, Missouri Warrant for a Sex Offender Registration Violation. According to KC Crime Stoppers, Whitaker’s last known address was near Northwest Harlem Road and Broadway in Kansas City, Missouri, but his current whereabouts are unknown. He is currently considered a non-compliant registered sex offender in Clay County, Missouri.
Town & Country 4-H member presents at state fair
CLAY COUNTY — Dylan Holland of the Town & Country 4-H Club, Kansas City-North, gave a demonstration on “Know Your Knives” in the 4-H Building at the Missouri State Fair. Missouri 4-H members compete at county events in order to qualify for the state demonstrations. According to the University of Missouri Extension, these demonstrations share what the youth have “learned in 4-H projects focused on STEM and agriculture, healthy living and civic engagement.”
Traffic stop ends in Kansas City-area home invasion arrest
KANSAS CITY —What started as a car stop in ended with a home invasion suspect in custody in a home near Kansas City. CLAY COUNTY, Mo. (KCTV) - A car stop turned home invasion led to a suspect in custody in Clay County early Sunday morning. The Clay County Sheriff’s Office said deputies tried to stop a vehicle driven by 37-year-old Lewis Long in Randolph that had no license plates at around 1 a.m. The driver fled from there, driving north on I-435 to I-35 and then north to 69 Highway.
