Greathouse Performance on Saturday, May 25 at 2 pm – “Life is a Cabaret” is the second and newest of Helena and Mark Greathouse’s two original shows which describe their lives together through flashbacks since 1968, when they first met as foreign students in former West Germany. This new show contains 12 mostly cabaret songs, both in American and Czech, all combined through dialog and accordion music with funny incidents from their life. There will be a question and answer session afterwards.

Scappoose High School is one of 21 high schools and five middle schools in the state that received recognition as a high-achieving leadership program. American Legion Post 119 Celebrates 100 Years
Vernonia’s American Legion Post 119 was established in 1924, and will celebrate their 100th year this summer during their annual BBQ event on the Friday of Jamboree. Just a few years ago interest in the organization had waned and Post 119 was at risk of being disbanded due to a lack of membership. With help from District administrators and officers, Post 119 has been revitalized and has been active in giving back to the community – helping local veterans in need, hosting bingo and poker tournaments at their headquarters, and making donations to numerous fundraising efforts, including youth activities, the Vernonia Senior Center, and Vernonia Cares Food Pantry.

California man doing remote work in Kelso goes missing from his hotel room
KELSO, Wash — A California woman is desperate to find her husband after he walked away from his hotel in Kelso last week, disappearing without a trace. Around 2:40 a.m. on Thursday, the Kelso Police Department said that 35-year-old Shun Riley of California was last seen exiting a Comfort Inn & Suites at the Three Rivers Mall complex by Manasco Drive. Police said that in the security camera footage, Riley appeared to be in “extreme distress.”
