CLARKSVILLE, TN – The City of Clarksville has announced that pools are back open for the summer starting on Saturday, but without the pool at Bel-Aire Park.

While Bel-Aire Pool was open last summer, crews have recently discovered a dangerous void beneath it, according to a city news release.

“A comprehensive geological study was conducted, revealing that the void may pose a safety risk, making it impossible to repair and reopen the pool. Consequently, the decision has been made to permanently close Bel-Aire Pool,” the city release said.

Bel-Aire Park is off Peachers Mill Road and serves several large neighborhoods east of Fort Campbell Boulevard.

Clarksville Now has reached out to city officials for additional information on the pool’s closure.

Pools opening

Starting Saturday, May 27, Swan Lake and Beachaven Pools will open, in addition to the already open New Providence Pool. Operating hours for all three will be Monday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday from 1-6 p.m., according to a city news release.

New Providence Pool will also offer dedicated lap swim sessions Monday-Friday, from 6:30-7:30 a.m. and 7:30-8:30 a.m.

Admission prices to the pools are $5 per person before 3 p.m. and $3 per person after 3 p.m. The City of Clarksville offers pool memberships at ClarksvilleParksRec.com.

Splash pads

Residents are invited to take advantage of the City of Clarksville splash pads, which are already open for the season at Dixon Park, Edith Pettus Park, Heritage Park, and Lettie Kendall Park. They are open daily from 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
