CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville High baseball team had their season come to an end on Wednesday after losing two out of three games played in the state tournament.

However, even with their losses, the Wildcats proved that they are one of the best baseball teams in the state of Tennessee. CHS managed to outscore their opponents 10-2 throughout their three games played.

During the opening round of the state tournament, Clarksville High defeated Stewarts Creek 10-0. They won the game behind Christian Henderson throwing his fifth complete game shutout of the season. Eight out of the nine players in the Wildcats lineup registered hits during the contest.

After their win, CHS took on the defending class 4A state champions, the Farragut High Admirals.

Runs were scarce throughout the matchup, but when it was all said and done, Clarksville High lost 1-0. Brady Davis went the distance and compiled the following stat line: 7 innings pitched, 7 hits allowed, 1 earned run, 3 walks and he struck out 4 batters.

With their loss against Farragut High, the Wildcats moved on to an elimination game against Stewarts Creek for their second matchup of the tournament.

In heartbreaking fashion, CHS lost the elimination game by a score of 1-0 – again. CHS outhit their opponents 5 to 1, but they couldn’t find a way to score.

Chip Harris started on the mound for Clarksville High and he pitched a complete game. Harris only gave up 1 hit, an unearned run, 2 walks and he struck out 9 batters.
