CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Land off of Interstate 24 near Exit 4 has been approved for annexation after an 8-5 vote by the City Council Thursday night. The 208-acre tract of land sits between I-24 and Oakland Road, just north of Exit 4. This land has now become part of the city limits. Rezoning was included in the annexation, with part of the land changing from AG (agricultural) to C2 and to C4 (commercial).

Since her early childhood, Sehura El was an outspoken, free-spirited woman. At the age of 21, she married Abdul Malik Rasheed where they remained a union for 20 years. In the late 1980s, she started a successful self-employed business as a professional hairstylist. She later settled in Clarksville Tennessee where she became the Director of Ms. Aiesha Childcare and Little Stars Daycare. Over her life span, Sehura enjoyed gardening, candle making, baking, listening to music, shopping, crystal/jewelry collecting, traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.

Jimmie Hutchison, age 74, of Big Rock, TN passed away peacefully at his residence on May 30, 2023. He was born October 30, 1948, the beloved son of the late Clarence and Virgie Ezell Hutchison. Jimmie was a hard worker and provider for his family. He worked Civil Service with the Forestry Department at Ft. Campbell, KY until he retired. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Jimmie enjoyed the simple thing of life; fishing, gardening and working with his tractor. He attended Chestnut Grove Church of Christ. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and leaves behind many loyal friends.
