CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – There is a new place to hang out in Clarksville, and it features a bar, bowling lanes and a slew of arcade games. While located inside The City Forum in the old Madison Room, this space is reserved for those 21 and older during the majority of operating hours.

The City Forum is already one of the largest family entertainment centers in the nation, with 120,000 square feet of space. The facility has a variety of family-friendly activities like mini golf, go-cart racing, laser tag and arcade games. It also features full-size bowling lanes, and just past those, you’ll find the old “Madison Room,” now converted to Varsity Pins, featuring the brand new “duckpin bowling” lanes.

City Forum Co-Owner Trent Knott told Clarksville Now that duckpin bowling has been around for many years and that the concept is similar to regular bowling, but on a smaller scale. Varsity Pins features a 30-foot lane that can be a challenge for seasoned players and new players alike.

“If you’re a 300 bowler and I’m a 100 bowler, we’re going to be pretty equal on these lanes,” he said. “It’s little pins, little bowling balls and little lanes. It’s just fun.”

Along with bowling, there are a multitude of games to check out, including classic favorites like darts and pinball. The space also features a fully stocked bar with seven beers on tap, along with a house margarita made with fresh lime.

In addition to the bar and bowling, patrons can also curb their taco cravings at the “Taco Bus,” situated in the back corner of Varsity Pins.

“We found a bus, and we drove it through Miss Lucille’s, and drove it in here and built walls around it. But our same chef that created Miss Lucille’s menu and Dock 17’s menu, now creates the Taco Bus menu as well.”

Varsity Pins is open on Wednesday for all ages from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., and doors are open exclusively for those 21 and older on Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Weekend hours are three to midnight on Friday, 11 a.m. to midnight on Saturday and noon to nine on Sunday.
