James H. Cossingham Jr., 88, of Clarksville, Tennessee was born on September 24, 1934, the oldest child to Elvira Packard Cossingham Williams and James H. Cossingham Sr. in White River Junction, Vermont. James departed this life on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at his residence with his devoted wife Beverly Hockett Cossingham by his side.

James professed a belief in Christ at an early age in White River Jct. Vermont as well as his later years at Edgefield Missionary Baptist Church, Clarksville, TN.

James and Beverly built their early life together in White River Jct. VT and their later years in Clarksville, Tennessee.

James graduated from Hartford High School in White River Junction, Vermont in 1952.  He enlisted in the United States Army where he was honorably discharged. He also attended Michigan State University where he earned his master’s and Ph. D. He was employed as a Minority Business Consultant for the Department of Transportation for over 20 years in New England and was the C.E.O. & owner of Jayco Enterprises along with his wife and brother. James was also an elder and member of the NIPMUC Native American Tribe in New England.

He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer. He truly loved spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by both of his parents and his brother Richard K. Cossingham.

Jim departed this life leaving to mourn and cherish his memory his wife, Beverly Cossingham; children, Denise (Tom) Quimby, Darrick (Irene) Cossingham, Talonda Martin, James (Abigail) Cossingham, Jessica (Jeremiah) Blatz; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and a host of other loving family & friends.
