CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Matthew “Matt” Gregory Calvert, 41, of Clarksburg, passed away on Friday, March 24, 2023, at United Hospital Center with family by his side.
He was born May 9, 1981, in Clarksburg, son of Mary Jean McClain Calvert of Clarksburg and the late Charles “Eddie” Edward Calvert Sr.
A graduate of Robert C. Byrd High School, Fairmont State University and WVU Law School, Matt was a hard worker in all of his endeavors.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing, playing sports, and was an avid WVU and Pirates fan.
We were blessed by God to have enjoyed him for this short span of life, and he will be missed terribly.
A loving father of four: Matthew “Tyler” Calvert, Noah Gregory Calvert, Jillian Elizabeth Calvert and Isaiah Austin Calvert; three grandchildren: Kol, Traysen and Nora; two brothers, Charles Edward Calvert Jr., and Jonathan Calvert and wife Gina; one sister; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Family will receive friends at Davis Funeral Home, 124 Olen Thomas Drive, Clarksburg, WV 26301 on Monday, March 27, 2023, from 3-7 p.m.
Funeral service will be private, with Pastor Sonny Palmer officiating.
Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
