At 10:22 p.m. Saturday, June 3, Clark County Sheriff's Deputies responded to an alarm at a car dealership located in the 9400 block of Northeast Highway 99 in Vancouver.
Officials say one of the department’s drone operators was nearby and deployed a small drone over the business within three minutes of the alarm being called. The front door of the dealership was found to have been shattered.
Other responding deputies contacted a subject leaving the business, identified as 21-year-old Kevin Navarro of Vancouver. Navarro was arrested for burglary in the second degree. Officials say he had multiple sets of keys in his possession which belonged to vehicles owned by the dealership.
Navarro was booked into the Clark County Jail for burglary, and other charges for theft and vandalism have been referred to the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office.
Clark County Sheriff’s Office says they are seeing an increasing number of commercial burglaries along Highway 99 in Hazel Dell over the past few months. Officials tell KATU News that have increased patrols in the area in hopes of deterring crime and providing a timely response to the incidents.
