The Clark County Department of Aviation is holding a job fair Thursday morning to hire almost 100 people for essential operational positions.
More than 20 companies, including Southwest Airlines, will be conducting interviews on the spot. Positions will include custodial, maintenance, bag service, information desk services, and more.
"Everyone's working hard. We're getting people through the airport on their flights, getting them their food and their concessions, but it's always good to have more, more hands on deck to help make it even quicker and smoother experience for people as they travel through here," said Joe Rajchel, Clark County Department of Aviation Public Information Officer.
Harry Reid International Airport is on track to bring in more than 52 million passengers in 2023. Currently, the nation is under a pilot shortage, with many of them retiring soon.
But Rajchel says everyday operation jobs are just as important as pilots and onboard positions.
According to Rajchel, the number of travelers this year is supposed to break records nationwide, and with F1 and the Super Bowl heading to Las Vegas approaching the aviation department wants more employees for the airport to run smoothly.
The job fair will be at the Las Vegas Convention Center from 9 AM-2 PM. Visit GovernmentJobs.com to see a list of job openings.
