The Clark County Fire Department is gearing up to conduct some life-saving drills atop the tallest observation wheel in North America.
Members of the department's heavy rescue team will be practicing rescue scenarios 550 feet above the Las Vegas Strip at The High Roller on Wednesday, March 29. Training begins at 9 am and will take place through noon.
The High Roller hosts the exercises periodically to offer firefighters unique opportunities to test technical rescue skills and safety measures through various scenarios, the county says.
"The High Roller is a very unique setting," said Clark County Fire Chief John Steinbeck.
"This training gives our firefighters an opportunity to practice complex, high-angle rescues and to refine the safety measures we have in place in the event that a rescue needs to be accomplished."

Authorities are slated to be present in the area, including department vehicles on the streets near The Linq as well as helicopters in the sky.
Visitors are being told not to panic as it is all just a drill.
