CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A former CPS secretary and cheerleading coach was convicted of stealing money from athletic events and a student field trip.
Donnitta Thomas, who used to work at Schroder High School, pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of theft last July. She was sentenced to probation which ended when she paid restitution.
Auditor Keith Faber was notified of some financial issues during a district audit. His office then performed a special audit.
Thomas had been secretary for the school since 2002. From 2917 through her resignation in July 2019, she also served as a cheerleader coach.
She has admitted to taking $10,756 in student fees and cash. She also To hide her crime, she posted facility rental checks and cheerleading fees paid to the school into the accounts where the stolen money was supposed to go.
Thomas has repaid about $5,000 and she forfeited about $7,500 in what she was owed at the time of her resignation for unused leave to pay for the stolen funds and audit costs.
She has fully repaid the money, according to Faber.
