Major Outlet Names UC Cornerback Among Notable National Defensive Newcomers

Cincinnati is hoping the transfer pops quickly this fall.

CINCINNATI — One of UC's newest players is making some noise early in Spring Practice. On3's Matt Zenitz listed Florida transfer cornerback Jordan Young as a lesser-hyped defensive gem .

"Through winter workouts and this portion of spring ball," Zenitz wrote . "Here are 20 lesser-hyped defensive newcomers generating buzz and that teams see as having a chance to be high-level contributors this season."

Young's made a few notable plays in coverage throughout the sessions and has helped the defense look much better than the offense as April approaches.

He has a slight edge in my view over Justin Harris right now for that starting field cornerback spot. Both have played well in practice and are making things tough on this new defensive staff.

The former Gator posted 10 tackles and a blocked kick for Florida last season after redshirting in 2021.
