CHISHOLM—Students from the Chisholm High School Drama Department are rehearsing for their spring play.

There are four performances scheduled for The Game of Tiaras by Don Zolidis: 7 p.m. Friday, April 26; 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27; and 1 p.m. Sunday, April 28. All performances are in the historic Chisholm High School Auditorium.

The cast consists of 21 students in grades seven through 12, according to Director Jennifer Rolle.

Cinderella is played by Rowen Hendrickson, Belle is played by Katelyn Thiesen, and Ellie by Violet Maki.

“I am so lucky to get to work with this wonderful cast of students who have juggled their busy spring sport and work schedules to participate in this spring play,” Rolle told the Mesabi Tribune via email last week. “They have

become my extended family and I am so proud watching them grow as actors with each production we do.”

Rolle provided the following glimpse of the storyline behind the play.

“When the aging king of a Magical Kingdom (England) decides to split his empire between his three daughters, Cinderella, Belle, and the Snow Queen (who in no way resembles a copyrighted character), terrible tragedy ensues. Terrible, hilarious tragedy. Combining the gut-wrenching plot twists of Game of Thrones and the soul-numbing despair of Shakespearean tragedy, this adaptation of King Lear will leave you dying with laughter as the body count mounts. When you play the Game of Tiaras, you win or you die.”

Tickets are available at the door. Admission is $8 for adults and $6 for senior citizens and students.

There will also be a split the pot fundraiser to help support future CHS Drama Department productions, costumes and set.
