Bad River warming shelter closed until further notice
The former Head Start building on the Bad River Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Indians reservation that’s been recently used as a warming shelter has been a high concern due to suspected substance abuse. Test results from May 1 indicate one bathroom in the building was at an unsafe level. The surrounding rooms were also tested and are safe, according to a news release from the Bad River tribe. Once cleaning and testing is completed, the faculty will be re-tested to ensure safety.
