A 35-year-old man was hospitalized this weekend with life-threatening injuries after a rollover crash in China Township.

According to the St. Clair County Sheriff Department, deputies responded to the report of a crash just after 9 p.m. Saturday, arriving at the intersection of McKinley and Puttygut roads to find a 2022 Blue Maverick rolled on to the driver's side.

The East China Township man driving the vehicle was found unresponsive on scene and transported to McLaren Macomb.

A 35-year-old St. Clair man was the only passenger in the vehicle and was not injured.

Investigators believe the driver was doing donuts in the intersection prior to the crash, and alcohol was believed to be a factor, according to the sheriff department.

The investigation is still ongoing.
