A shooting in Santa Fe County left one person dead after shots were fired at a residence in Chimayo. The shooting happened Friday night around 9:36 p.m.The shooting happened in the area of Canada Ancha and El Potrero Road. Santa Fe County sheriff's deputies found Jerome Chavez, 22, of Chimayo, dead from a gunshot wound. The windows of the residence were shot out, according to police.Witnesses told police they were inside the garage when shots were fired from the driveway area. No one else was injured in the shooting. No arrests have been made as the case remains ongoing.The Santa Fe County Sheriff's Office is investigating the shooting.
