Six area players named to All-Ohio Division I and II girls basketball teams

The Ohio Prep Sportswriters Association released its selections for the All-Ohio Division I and II girls basketball teams on Tuesday.

Chillicothe's Jacey Harding was the lone area player named to the All-Ohio Division I list after being named as a Special Mention. Local Division II teams Unioto and Waverly combined for five players named to the All-Ohio team, with Unioto having three players named and Waverly earning two spots.

Unioto's Milee Smith received the highest recognition after being named to the All-Ohio Third Team. Smith led the Shermans in scoring with 14.7 points per game, while also leading the team with 7.7 rebounds and 3.5 assists per game.

Fellow Sherman Amaris Betts was named as an All-Ohio Special Mention after averaging 14 points per game and shooting 41 percent from 3-point range. Amelia Uhrig rounded out All-Ohio honorees for the Shermans after being named as an Honorable Mention. Uhrig averaged 8.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in her junior season for the Shermans.

Waverly's Bailey Vulgamore and Kelli Stewart also received recognition for their senior season efforts. Vulgamore was listed as an All-Ohio Division II Special Mention, while Stewart earned recognition as an All-Ohio Honorable Mention.
