Chico Police Department (CPD) responded to two early morning thefts Saturday.
The first incident happened around 6:35 a.m. in the 400 block of W. 9th Street. CPD says a witness saw a female suspect crawling into a locked garage through a window. CPD arrived and arrested the suspect for burglary, Heidi Kelly, (43).
The second incident happened in the same time frame as the first burglary, CPD says another witness saw a male suspect enter a locked vehicle in the 1000 block of Aspen Street. The witness followed the suspect until officers arrived at the scene at E. 9th Street and Cypress Street. The suspect was identified as Reshaun Jacobs, (20). Jacobs was found in possession of a firearm that was stolen during a residential burglary in 2016. Jacobs was then arrested on multiple charges including vehicle burglary, possession of stolen property, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of drug paraphernalia, providing false identification to a police officer, and a warrant out of Stockton, California for being in possession of a concealed firearm.
