Food delivery courier shot in head on Southwest Side: CPD

CHICAGO — A food delivery courier is in critical condition after being shot in the head on the city’s Southwest Side.

The shooting happened arond 12:30 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of West 68th Street in the West Englewood neighborhood.

Police said the 49-year-old man got in a verbal altercation with another man after attempting to make a food delivery, when someone fired shots.

The man sustained a gunshot wound to the head and was transported to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition.

No one is in custody. Area One Detectives are investigating.

That's why I don't blame delivery drivers not delivering to certain neighborhoods. The main issue is , from what a delivery driver told me is that no matter if you stay in the nice neighborhoods doing deliveries, the app will always try and force you to take deliveries back to the dangerous neighborhoods. And most of the time, they can only make money by going to the bad neighborhoods because people in those neighborhoods order food and alcohol all the time. Because they are scared of leaving their own homes to go and grab the stuff, because crazy stuff is always bound to happen when our and about. I wish it was a law to deport thugs out of the United States. They make it bad for everyone.
