CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Prosecutors outlined details in the case against the boyfriend of 33-year-old Brittany Battaglia, whose body was found in a Logan Square home, and as the bond court judge put it, the details are "nothing short of horrific."

The State's Attorney told the court that a search of the boyfriend's home revealed a duffle bag that contained the body of Brittany Battaglia, and the medical examiner had concluded her head was almost severed.

In a backpack, prosecutors said, a machete was found that had traces of blood.  A second machete was found in the boyfriend's car.

In the kitchen area, they said, they found a tarp and bags and cleaning supplies.

In one bag, prosecutors said a note was found that said, "Can you ask average time until smell, etc.?"

The judge ordered Brittany Battaglia's boyfriend, 34-year-old Genesis Silva, held without bail.
