The Chicago Bulls have a lot of unknowns ahead of them, both on their roster and in their long-term strategy. That is to be expected of a team that floundered all season long before embarking on a late run to barge into the Play-in Tournament. However, don’t let that brief resurgence cloud the fact that the Bulls have plenty of work to do if they want to be in contention for a playoff spot in 2023-2024. To that end, here are two needs the Bulls must address this off-season:

Outside shooting

In an era defined by three-point shooting, the Bulls have seemingly fallen behind the times and rank dead last in the league in both three-pointers made and attempted. This naturally puts them at a disadvantage in every game; after all, three is bigger than two. To help bridge the gap, the Bulls must find a way to bring in a sharpshooter or two to bolster their offensive firepower and help space the floor for slashers like Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan.

Backcourt leader

The Bulls went on their run late in the season when sparkplug guard Patrick Beverley and his trademark intensity came to the Windy City. However, with Beverley seeking greener pastures and a larger payday, the Bulls must now scour the market for a new floor general to lead the troops. The Bulls need someone who can run an offense, create opportunities for his teammates, and provide a defensive presence on the perimeter.
