The Chicago Bulls point guard dilemma has been a key problem ever since Lonzo Ball went down with an injured knee in January of 2022. Since then, it's been a virtual carousel of young players and cagey veterans, none of whom were able to provide the stability and production that the Bulls need. The answer to their problems could be found in an unlikely place: D'Angelo Russell of the Los Angeles Lakers.

Can't wait on Lonzo

There's no denying how awesome the Bulls were when Lonzo was manning the point. In fact, at one point, they were the best team in the league. The good times, though, came to an abrupt end when the former UCLA star suffered a knee injury from which he has yet—if at all—to come back from.

Bulls executive Arturas Karnisovas has stated they won't tear the entire roster down, but they may have to make a few moves, and one that could make a lot of sense is sending All-Star wingman DeMar DeRozan to the Lakers for Russell.

Looking for redemption

DeRozan is set to play the final year of his contract with the Bulls, and there's no doubt he'll be looking to prove his worth once again in the hopes of landing one more big payday—whether that's with Chicago or some other team. The Bulls obviously would not want to let Deebo walk for free, and moving him for the left-handed scoring guard the Bulls desperately need could be a win-win for both teams.

For DeRozan, it would offer him the chance to play in his hometown and get a solid shot at winning an NBA title with the likes of LeBron James and Anthony Davis playing alongside him.
