The Chicago Blackhawks are a team loaded with draft picks. After winning the 2023 NHL Draft Lottery, we know one of them is going to be used on Connor Bedard.

Obviously, that is a pick that is going to change the course of the franchise for years to come. He has the potential to be one of the best players in the league based on his skill set.

Chicago also has the 19th overall pick which is the former first-round pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning. The Blackhawks have that from the Brandon Hagel trade that they made last year.

The Hawks then have four picks in the second round which is amazing. With a draft as deep as this one, they can do some damage with those.

The Chicago Blackhawks have a lot of depth in the 2023 NHL Draft.

Following that, they have two third-round picks and one selection in the fourth, fifth, and seventh rounds as well. 11 draft picks are a great way to continue this rebuild.

However, the Hawks have a different way that they can use these picks wisely as well. Using some of them, especially a few of those second-round picks, could get them back in the late stages of the first round. If there were a first round to have three selections, it would be this one.

The first overall pick, the 19th pick, and one in the 20s would be a great way to utilize some of their assets. There will be very good players scattered throughout the first round this year, more than usual.

Kyle Davidson seems like a pretty smart guy. He has started this rebuild off well and good things have started to happen for them. Well, maybe he will consider finding himself a third first-round pick this year.

He did it at the 2022 NHL Draft and he started it with zero selections. An idea like this should be light work for him.

Building this franchise back up through the draft is the best thing for them. It will also be better for Bedard in the long run which should be their main goal right now. Hopefully, no matter what they do with the picks, it helps them in the end.
