Suarez (elbow) is scheduled to throw a full bullpen session Friday, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports. Suarez has already thrown off the mound a couple of times, but the catcher was positioned in front of the plate during those workouts. He's now ready to take things to the next level in his ongoing recovery from lingering stiffness and inflammation in his right elbow. Re-signed to a five-year, $46 million contract this offseason, the 32-year-old setup man could finally be a contributor for the Padres around the end of June.

Lugo (calf) will face live hitters soon and hopes to return to the Padres without needing a minor-league rehab assignment, Jeff Sanders of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. Lugo threw a 50-pitch bullpen session Friday and completed running drills Saturday before another scheduled bullpen Monday, so he appears to be well on his way to a return from the calf strain that led to his placement on the 15-day IL in mid-May. Though the right-hander hopes to rejoin the big club without a rehab stint, it's uncertain whether the organization will follow that plan given that Lugo has already spent more than the minimum time on the injured list. Whenever he does return, Lugo should have a spot in the rotation waiting for him, as Ryan Weathers has been mostly unimpressive as his fill-in.

Allen was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports. Allen has made more starts at shortstop than any other Athletic this season, but even Oakland wasn't willing to put up with his .476 OPS any more. Kevin Smith has been recalled to take Allen's spot on the roster and should see ample time at shortstop along with Aledmys Diaz.

McCarthy went 1-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two stolen bases in Tuesday's 10-5 win over Washington. McCarthy has multiple steals in two straight games and stolen 10 bags in 10 games since being recalled from Triple-A Reno. The outfielder is getting on base with regularity since rejoining the parent club, which could mean a full season's worth of steals. McCarthy had 23 stolen bases over 99 games in 2022.

Munoz (shoulder) was reinstated from the 15-day injured list Tuesday. As expected, the Mariners returned Munoz from the 15-day IL on Tuesday, clearing him to return to the big-league bullpen for the first time since April 9. The right-hander has appeared in four games with Seattle this season, tossing 3.1 scoreless frames, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out three batters. The 24-year-old flamethrower will likely step right into a prominent high-leverage role in Seattle's bullpen, though veteran Paul Sewald could have a strong hold on the ninth inning for the time being. Regardless of where he slots in, Munoz figures to be a strong fantasy asset coming off of a 2022 campaign where he produced a 2.49 ERA and 0.89 WHIP with a 13.3 K/9 and 22 holds over 65 frames in 64 appearances.

Porter supplied five points (2-8 FG, 1-6 3Pt) and six rebounds over 26 minutes during Sunday's 111-108 loss to the Heat in Game 2 of the NBA Finals. Although Porter was one of the heroes in Denver's Game 1 win, he was unable to get many shots to fall Sunday. Porter's five points matched his second-worst scoring total of the season, and although Nikola Jokic posted a huge 41-point total to pick up the slack, the Porter's production was sorely missed.
