CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, S.C. — One person is dead after a crash involving a tractor-trailer in Chesterfield County just past midnight on Saturday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers responded to the crash on US-601 near State Line Road. which is near Pageland.
The driver of a 2013 Chevy van was traveling north on US-601 when a tractor-trailer attempted to make a U-turn and the two collided, troopers said.
The driver of the Chevy died at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was transported to the hospital with injuries. No one else was hurt.
The crash remains under investigation.
