A thirteen-hour standoff that began last night has ended in the area of 4th and Carson, near the Lincoln-Central Elementary School in Cherryvale.

 According to the Montgomery County Chronicle, the individual made threatening comments toward school patrons, judges, and city personnel yesterday. There was also concern about the person's mental health. The Montgomery County Sheriff's Department says the man was taken into custody around 7:45 this morning.

 USD 447 schools canceled classes for today, with no activities at any campus taking place.
