65-year-old Richard Stasiak was arraigned Wednesday morning before Cheektowaga Town Court Justice David Stevens on one count of aggravated harassment and one count of disorderly conduct.

Prosecutors say on Monday, March 20, Stasiak used abusive or obscene language toward the victim in a parking lot outside of a grocery store on Walden Avenue, and yelled racial slurs toward the victim because of a belief or perception regarding the victims’ race.

Stasiak is scheduled to return on Monday, July 3, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. ET for further proceedings. He was released on his own recognizance as the charges are non-qualifying offenses for bail.

If convicted of the highest charge, Stasiak faces a maximum sentence of one year in jail.

A temporary order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
