CHAUTAUQUA COUNTY, N.Y. — The Chautauqua County Sheriff's Office is investigating a potential drowning in Chautauqua Lake Friday morning.
Deputies responded to Bemus Point, after reports that 66-year-old Robert W. Mieczkowski of Wintersville, Ohio had not returned to shore.
Crews later found his boat, and Mieczkowski underwater.
Marine Patrol recovered Mieczkowski and the Coroner's Office pronounced him deceased a short time later.
