CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF)- The 40th annual Riverbend festivities kicked off day two with general admission wristbands completely sold out.

Gates opened at 2p.m. with a variety of activities and vendors.

Big Boi, from Outkast, took to the Michelob Ultra Stage at 5 p.m..

“Chattanooga brings great music. I’m looking forward to Nightfall. I’m looking forward to seeing Cowboy Mountain at riverfront nights. Just having this amount of music in Chattanooga is awesome- I mean you don’t have to leave Chattanooga to see great music,” said Valerie Brock, longtime Riverbend attendee.

The layout of the festival is similar to last year, with three stages headlined by the Coca-Cola stage on the Chattanooga Green.

Organizers altered the layout to condense the festival to three days instead of the traditional nine days.

“My husband and I call ourselves the ‘Riverbend Warriors.’ When it was seven or eight nights, we came every night. Seven days to to three days is amazing because I get a break,” said Brock.

Despite the change in layout., Riverbend has received a great crowd response again this year.

Nathaniel Ratecliff and the Night Sweats headlined Saturday night at 9:15 p.m. on the Coca Cola stage.
The festival will continue with the fun throughout Sunday.
