Attic fire burns Chattanooga family of 3 out of their home on Memorial Day

CHATTANOOOGA, Tenn. —
A Memorial Day attic fire has left a Chattanooga family without a home.

It happened at 8:30 last night in the 1700 block of Olive Street.
Chattanooga firefighters spotted smoke coming out of the eaves.
Then flames coming out of the back of the house from the attic area and quickly knocked down the fire.
The cause is not known.
No one was injured.
Right now the American Red Cross is assisting the two residents and a child with temporary housing.

CPD says the following units responded; Engine 4, Ladder 5, Engine 5, Quint 10, Squad 1, Squad 13, Battalion 1, and Battalion 3 responded, along with CPD, EPB and HCEMS.
