Chattanooga Fire Dept. quickly extinguishes Smoothie King fire

HIXSON, Tenn. (WDEF) — A portion of Highway 153 in Hixson was temporarily shut down Wednesday.

The Chattanooga Fire Department responded to a fire at the Smoothie King at this location. It happened just before 3 p.m.

There were multiple reports of smoke and flames coming out of the back of the Smoothie King building.

The CFD said they did put out the fire, and there were no injuries. They said the fire was out in a matter of minutes.

At this time, Highway 153 has completely reopened.

The back of the building is damaged, on the exterior and to the interior back office.

Officials are investigating to determine the cause of the fire.
