Police in Chattanooga cited a driver after they say she failed to yield to a CARTA bus, struck it, rolled her own vehicle, and fled the scene.
Chattanooga Police say the incident happened Monday night just after 9 p.m. at the corner of Dodds Avenue and 41st Street.
Police say a pickup truck driven by Normelia Gonzalez was heading south on Dodds when it tried to make a left turn onto 41st Street.
But police say Gonzalez did not yield to oncoming traffic, which in this case was the CARTA bus.
The pickup struck the bus and rolled on its top.
Police say Gonzalez crawled out of the pickup and walked away from the scene.
The crash damaged the bus's front bumper and drivers-side windshield. An ambulance took the driver to the hospital, and other CARTA employees retrieved the bus and took it to their maintenance facility.
Police later caught up with Gonzalez and cited her for failure to report an accident, financial responsibility, driver's license violation, improper turn and failure to yield resulting in an accident.
