Siskin Hospital raises money to help uninsured patients

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — Siskin Hospital held their 20th annual Possibilities Luncheon today at the Convention Center.

Victoria Arlen was the keynote speaker of the event.

She shared her inspiring story of how she overcame a four-year vegetative state and regained the ability to speak, see, eat and walk.

During the event, supporters could also donate to a fund that will be used to cover the bills of uninsured patients.

Siskin has previously helped up to 50 people in a year gain access to life-changing rehabilitation services.

President and CEO of Siskin Hospital, Dr Matthew Gibson said that he is glad to honor the way his organization helps the community. “Our people make the difference and they’re the ones that give people hope and give people their life back, so I’m extremely proud of today’s event that really showcases the phenomenal work that occurs every day at Siskin Hospital and I’m proud to be a part of the team.”

The new “Healing Gardens” program for Siskin Hospital was also announced. It will place several gardens around Siskin Hospital so patients can rehab in nature.
