Active shooter at Regions Bank in Chattanooga, police say

UPDATE:

Chattanooga Police received reports that a man entered the Regions Bank at 601 Market Street and fired several rounds. They said he left the bank with an unknown amount of money.

The suspect fled the bank before police arrived.

Law enforcement officials are still on-scene to investigate.

Police have advised area businesses to resume normal operations.

The CPD said the suspect has a light skin color and was wearing all black clothing.

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) — After a reported shooting at the Regions Bank, police have barricaded the area. Officers say there was an attempted robbery.

The reported shooting happened by Market Street and 6th Street near the river.

Chattanooga Police received reports of shots fired at the bank at about 10:30 a.m.

They say no one was injured.

There is a large police presence at the site in Downtown Chattanooga.

Chattanooga Police are still searching for the suspect.

However, they say there is no immediate threat to the area.

Police have reopened all streets in the area.
