Mississippi town destroyed by tornado gets $1.3M from FEMA
ROLLING FORK, Miss. - A Mississippi town destroyed by a tornado has been given $1.3 million from FEMA. The money is designed to reimburse Rolling Fork, Mississippi for debris removal following the severe storms in March 2023. The debris scattered throughout the city caused an immediate threat to the health and safety of residents, FEMA said. In all, the storms left over 190,000 yards of construction and demolition debris, over 7,800 cubic yards of vegetative debris and more than 4,800 cubic yards of concrete debris, according to FEMA.
