Things are heating up on the recruiting trail for the UVA football program. The Cavaliers landed a verbal commit from the 2024 recruiting class for the second day in a row as three-star wide receiver Christian Zachary announced his commitment to Virginia on Tuesday morning.

A 6'3", 190-pound wide receiver from Calhoun County High School in Saint Matthews, South Carolina, Zachary is rated a three-star prospect by 247Sports, which also has him ranked as the No. 95 wide receiver in the recruiting class of 2024 and the No. 12 overall prospect in the state of South Carolina.

Zachary held offers from a handful of programs, including Duke, Cincinnati, Liberty, Appalachian State, East Carolina, Old Dominion, Richmond, Troy, and others. Virginia was the second Division I program to offer Zachary back on March 21st after he took an unofficial visit to UVA. Zachary also took visits to Duke, South Carolina, Clemson, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, and Coastal Carolina before returning to Virginia for an official visit this past weekend along with several other of the Cavaliers' top recruiting targets in this class.

So far, the weekend of recruiting visits has already yielded two commitments as three-star offensive lineman Grant Ellinger announced his commitment to UVA on Monday and Christian Zachary followed suit the next day, making his verbal commitment to the Cavaliers on Tuesday morning.
