The road to Omaha begins this weekend and the Virginia baseball team starts that journey at home for the first time in seven years. UVA is set to begin play at the 2023 NCAA Baseball Tournament, hosting Army, Oklahoma, and East Carolina in the Charlottesville Regional this weekend at Disharoon Park. With the Cavaliers looking to make their sixth trip to the College World Series, here's everything you need to know about this weekend's Charlottesville Regional:

Charlottesville Regional Format and Schedule

Virginia (45-12) has been selected the No. 7 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, earning a top 8 national seed for the fifth time in program history and first time since 2014, which means the Cavaliers will have home field advantage all the way to the College World Series. UVA is joined in the Charlottesville regional by East Carolina (45-17), Oklahoma (31-26), and Army (38-16).

The regional will open on Friday with Virginia taking on Army at 12pm and Oklahoma facing East Carolina at 7pm. The four teams will play a double-elimination format throughout the weekend until three of the four teams have suffered two losses and the one remaining team is crowned the champion of the regional. 

Here's the full schedule for the Charlottesville Regional:

Game 1 - Friday at 12pm: Virginia vs. Army

Game 2 - Friday at 7pm: Oklahoma vs. East Carolina

Game 3 - Saturday at 12pm: Loser Game 1 vs. Loser Game 2

Game 4 - Saturday at 6pm: Winner Game 1 vs. Winner Game 2

Game 5 - Sunday at 12pm: Winner Game 3 vs. Loser Game 4

Game 6 - Sunday at 6pm: Winner Game 4 vs. Winner Game 5

Game 7 (if necessary) - Sunday at TBA
