CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Police Department has arrested a person in connection with a shots fired incident that occurred earlier this month.

On Saturday, police arrested 21-year-old Kyhiem Kier for the May 16 incident that started on Preston Avenue.

At this time, he is accused of being a felon in possession of a firearm, but other charges are pending.

CPD says it is still actively investigating this incident and working to identify any other people who may have been involved.

Two firearms have been recovered in connection with this case.

The shooting occurred on Preston Avenue, and a short time later, a car crashed on Prospect Avenue.

At that time, police said they believed the two incidents were connected. No further information has been released regarding that.
