See what UVA's scholarship chart looks like with Kadin Shedrick, Isaac Traudt, and Francisco Caffaro entering the transfer portal
After experiencing very little roster attrition from key rotation players last offseason, Virginia is facing a significant amount of roster turnover this time around with six players already exiting the program since the end of the season.
Kihei Clark, Jayden Gardner, and Ben Vander Plas each exhausted their collegiate eligibility this season. Francisco Caffaro entered his name into the transfer portal on Thursday and Isaac Traudt and Kadin Shedrick entered the portal on Monday. Reece Beekman and Armaan Franklin have eligibility remaining, but are still pondering their futures at this point.
At minimum, Virginia will have four scholarship spots open for the 2023-2024 season. See UVA's updated scholarship chart for the next few seasons below.
Note: the 2020-2021 season continues to be a "freebie" season that does not count against a player's eligibility. The graphic above shows Virginia's scholarship picture with the assumption that every player utilizes the extent of his eligibility. This currently applies to Armaan Franklin, Reece Beekman, and Dante Harris.
Here's a current position breakdown for Virginia's 2023-2024 roster:
Point Guards: Reece Beekman, Dante Harris
Shooting Guards/Wings: Armaan Franklin, Isaac McKneely, Taine Murray, Leon Bond III, Elijah Gertrude
Forwards/Centers: Ryan Dunn, Blake Buchanan
