Investigators look into suspected arson at UVM’s Virtue Field
Officials with both the University of Vermont and the Burlington Fire Department believe a fire at UVM’s soccer and lacrosse field was intentionally set. BFD Acting Chief Jamie Valyou says a call came in shortly before 1:00 a.m. Saturday to report a fire in a dugout next to Virtue Field. Once crews arrived, they found that a storage shed next to the press box was fully involved in flames. Firefighters quickly put out the flames, and no one was hurt.
No injuries in Williston industrial fire
No one was hurt in a fire on Industrial Avenue in Williston Friday night. It started just before 8:00 p.m. at AstenJohnson, which produces fabrics for paper mills and for the textile industry. Williston firefighters found smoke throughout the building and a piece of machinery on fire inside. The flames also spread to the roof.
