The Carolina Panthers have announced some unfortunate injury news this Thursday morning.
According to a statement posted to the team's website, starting cornerback Jaycee Horn has suffered an ankle injury that will sideline him through the remainder of OTAs and minicamp.
He's expected to be "fully recovered" by the start of training camp later this summer.
Horn, a Panthers' first-round pick in 2021, appeared in just three games during his rookie year due to an ankle injury, however, Carolina said in its statement today that the two injuries were not to the same foot.
No surgery is expected for Horn, the Panthers shared, but he will be in a walking boot for "a few weeks."
After suiting up for three games in his rookie campaign, Horn appeared in and started 13 games for the Panthers last season. He recorded three interceptions, seven defended passes and 53 total tackles.
With Carolina's OTAs and minicamp finishing up next week, Horn will have just under two months to complete his recovery before the start of training camp.
