Frank Reich is looking at an elite quarterback

The Carolina Panthers are expected to take a quarterback with their first pick of the 2023 NFL Draft. The Panthers gave up a considerable amount for the number one overall pick in a trade with the Chicago Bears earlier in March. Head coach Frank Reich recently spoke about a quarterback prospect in the draft they find appealing.

According to David Newton with ESPN, Reich told reporters at the League Annual Meeting he was impressed with Florida quarterback Anthony Richardson. Richard plans to participate in Florida’s Pro Day on Thursday.

“He’s an exciting player. Even before the combine, watching his tape, there are plays and throws all over the tape that scream top of the draft pick.’’

The Panthers could draft Richardson with the number one pick in April. Richardson’s stock has gone up in previous weeks. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young and Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud were considered the top quarterback prospects through the last college football season.
