CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The City of Charleston has indicated multiple local events set to take place over the next several days which could impact travel plans for some motorists.
With an abundance of exciting events set to make their way to the Charleston area this week, authorities are urging motorists and residents to exercise caution and attentiveness in the face of traffic pattern alterations facilitated to accommodate the goings on.
The following is a notice released by the City of Charleston indicating upcoming traffic alterations to accommodate local events.
“Road Closure Notice: June 7 – 11
The following events will impact traffic in Charleston.
Magic Island Family Movie Night
WHEN: Wednesday, June 7, 3 p.m. – 11 p.m.
WHERE: Kanawha Boulevard, Pennsylvania Avenue North to Ohio Avenue
Live on the Levee
WHEN: Friday, June 9, noon – 11 p.m.
WHERE: Kanawha Boulevard, from Hale Street to Court Street
NOTE: Kanawha Boulevard will remain closed from Hale Street to Court
Street – with the closure extending to Clendenin Street in preparation for the CAMC Foundation Run for Your Life.
Outdoor Dining on Capitol Street
WHEN: Friday, June 9 at 3 p.m. to Sunday, June 11 at 11 p.m.
WHERE: Capitol Street, from Kanawha Boulevard to Lee Street
NOTE: Virginia Street and Quarrier Street will remain open
CAMC Foundation Run for Your Life
WHEN: Saturday, June 10 until noon (closure continued from Friday)
WHERE: Kanawha Boulevard, from Hale Street to Clendenin Street
WHEN: Saturday, June 10, 8 a.m. to end of race (rolling closure)
