Update On Men’s Swimming At Eastern Illinois University
Eastern Illinois University is committed to maintaining a supportive and healthy environment for all students and student-athletes. Recently, we engaged Finegan, Rinker, and Ghrist, independent counsel, to support an investigation into claims of hazing involving the EIU men’s swimming team. The University will work with outside counsel to support and review the Dean of Students’ investigation and will report its findings in due course.

Demons’ defense stands tall, but offense sputters against EIU
The Northwestern State football team had its chances Saturday night to write the ending it wanted. Decked out in all-black uniforms, the Demons could not capitalize on a strong defensive effort as visiting Eastern Illinois pitched a second-half shutout, scoring the only nine points of the final two quarters to grab a 19-10 road win at Turpin Stadium.

NACHITOCHES, La. (AP) — Pierce Holley passed for 274 yards and a touchdown, Kevin Daniels scored on a 6-yard run and Eastern Illinois beat Northwestern State 19-10 Saturday. Holley completed 19 of 37 passes with no interceptions and Daniels finished with 13 carries for 37 yards. Justin Bowick had four receptions for 130 yards, including a 52-yard touchdown, for Eastern Illinois (4-1). Chance Newman capped a seven-play, 90-yard drive with a 1-yard touchdown run for Northwestern State that made it 10-10 with 2:28 left in the second quarter. The Demons offense managed to cross midfield just twice in the second half and failed to convert on fourth down both times. The Panthers opened the third quarter with a seven-play, 71-yard drive that culminated when Daniels scored, but the point-after kick was blocked.

CHBC Gets Quick Two Set Win Over Martinsville

Men's Soccer Shuts Out Eastern Illinois Sunday
CHARLESTON, Ill. – A late goal lifted SIUE men's soccer to a 1-0 win at Eastern Illinois Sunday, moving the Cougars to 2-0-0 in the Ohio Valley Conference. SIUE remained unbeaten on the season at 7-0-2 and the Cougars have won three straight games. Eastern Illinois slipped to 2-5-2 and 1-1-0 in OVC play.

BSE Falls to Neoga in NTC Play-In Game
Brownstown-St. Elmo baseball’s fall season came to an end on Friday as the #8 seeded Bombers fell to the #9 seed Neoga Indians, 11-1, in five innings in the play-in game of the National Trail Conference Tournament.
