Blanca Thomas ended any further mystery surrounding her decision of where she will play college basketball.

Thomas, a 6-foot-5 rising senior post player from Charlotte Catholic, announced via her Twitter account on Monday that she will attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She has amassed 1,189 points and 804 rebounds through her first three years playing at Catholic and is rated as one of the top-10 recruiting prospects in the country by several scouting services.

Charlotte Catholic won its second straight Southwestern 4-A Conference championship last season en route to a 25-7 overall record and a trip to the Western Regional, where it lost to Lake Norman.

Thomas averaged 16.6 points, 9.6 rebounds and 4.2 blocked shots per game during the 2022-23 season.

Last summer, Thomas narrowed her list of potential suitors to 10 schools. UNC won out over Duke, Louisville, Michigan, N.C. State, Notre Dame, Stanford, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia Tech.
