While North Carolina has lost four members of the 2022-2023 roster to the transfer portal, the Tar Heels have received good news this week, as two starters will return to Chapel Hill.

On Wednesday, All-American big man Armando Bacot announced that he would use his extra year of eligibility and return to North Carolina.

Two days later, RJ Davis has confirmed that he is coming back to Chapel Hill for his senior season.

Davis took to social media to announce the news following a career-high junior campaign.

The White Plains, NY native averaged 16.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.2 assists while shooting 36.2 percent from three-point range.

Davis started all but one game for the Tar Heels and led the roster with an 88.1 shooting percentage from the charity stripe.

The return of Davis brings an abundance of experience and talent to the UNC backcourt, as they look to bounce back following a disappointing season.

While the rest of the roster remains unclear with decisions yet to be made and the impact of the transfer portal unclear, the Tar Heels will bring back at least two starters with over 100 games of experience.

Can Davis help North Carolina bounce back and have a successful 2023-2024 campaign?
